I found that Clean eating could be applied to any nutritional plan that I followed, whether a combination of animal and vegetarian, vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, low carb or low sugar. It also allowed me to eliminate specific foods that I needed to avoid for specific health reasons.
So the next step is to personalise your nutritional plan and menu to you specifically.
Tweak the list of Foods for your own personalised use
I looked at the list of suggested clean eating items and removed items that I was not able to eat from the list Foods to eat .
You may have intolerances or specific foods you need to stay away from, so these will need to be removed from your list.
Determining how much to eat
I did originally calculate what calories I needed to consume using the BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) combined with the Harris Benedict equation to give me a base for the calories my body needed to function. Then used My fitness Pal to track my calories in order to get an idea of portion sizes and to track what I was eating.
I no longer require this method and rather listen to my body to know when I am full and satisfied. This evolution for me has happened over time and learning about my own body, as well as nutrition and health knowledge from studying. Resources
Determine your eating schedule
I started listening to my own own body and created a plan for when I needed to eat. You will need to decided based on you own body requirements how to split your meals through the day.
This is specific to your body and your schedule, this is why it is so important to listen to your body and see when it requires fuelling.
I started with 3 meals a day and then adjusted this over time to fit in with when my body needed fuelling. This really needs to be specific to you and your body!
I now have a specific window of time in the day that I choose to eat in and this has worked wonders for my body and health.
Knowledge about your body is powerful and I researched and continue to daily Resources
